Unmined Territory

One of our readers wrote in suggesting some scenes between Claudia and Carly. It got me thinking about the great potential that General Hospital has for relationships between their actresses, something the writers have only touched with Lulu-Maxie and Diane-Alexis.

A Claudia-Carly face-off would be the clash of two titans. Kate is so different from Carly - she's cool, using the velvet glove instead of the knife, and besides, right now, she's got Sonny. Carly is no more than an annoyance to her. A big annoyance, but nevertheless, just an annoyance. The fights are basically Carly losing her temper while Kate watches because Carly doesn't have annoyances, she has roadblocks. So does Claudia. We need a major storyline that will bring them together often, not just occasionally, so that we can really see some fireworks.

Also, we see that Jerry-Alexis is taking a back seat for the moment. Here you've got two wonderful actors, and Jerry's walking around the pier and going into warehouses. What a waste of sex appeal and an accent. Obviously, every storyline can't heat up at once, especially during the summer, given vacations and such. We just hope there's a lot in store for these two. We also hope that something is in store for Ric, who has been doing a lot of thumb-twiddling lately. Is he going to have a thing with Claudia or isn't he?

It's a sore subject, but I'll bring it up anyway: Elizabeth and Jason. This storyline seems to be on hold for the moment, but I hear there are big doings in the works.

And General Hospital wouldn't be General Hospital without Luke, and the pairing of him with Tracy is genius. Can't wait for more of that when Luke gets into town. Of course, if Laura could just come out of her coma permanently...but I ask for too much.

In the meantime, it's mob rule. That's not all bad. The Max/Milo dad story promises to be a pip.
