Is Rick Hearst Leaving 'General Hospital'?

At the end of the latest round of contract negotiations, General Hospital and its fans may be without the presence of three of its most important stars: Maurice Benard (Sonny), Steve Burton (Jason) and Rick Hearst (Ric).

GH MUST keep Jason,Sonny an all the mob figures they are necessary. May not watch GH without them, I Love them. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rick has been badly misused, so I wouldn’t blame the actor for leaving. I hope they let his character reform or get out of town to try to reform. This is a case where you have an actor too good for his writers.
From what I’ve read elsewhere, I don’t believe the others are leaving.
Since Rick found out that his father lied to him about his mom & Sonny & since Sonny saved Ricks life with the blood transfesion & Rick told sonny he would protect Kristina as he would Molly from the mob. And after helping Carly without asking either Sonny or Carly for anything- I though all of that would redeem him with Sonny & Carly then the could be at least friendly to each other & maybe Sonny & he could get a little closer. I loved rick with Alexa -they were funny & loveable together & great to watch. it would have been nice if rick would have made peace with Jason knowing that Jason is helping sonny do the right thing for his kids & know that Jason is always watching out & protecting Elizebeth & the boys. Rick will be missed as would Sonny & Jason- they are three people that hold the mob story lines together getting rid of them would end mob story lines -even though it would be nice to see sonny stay a coffe importer & open up a resturant since he loves to cook. Jason could join PC police dept as a detective to help solve crimes with his side kick Spinelli & Rick could go back to being a good lawyer & get back with Alexa that would be great. Sonny marries Kate & Jason & Elizebeth along woth Lucky & sam get married. Then Jake gets his father Jason & he could still have Lucky in his life with Sam & Cameron could still have Lucky as his dad & Jason as a step dad. thank you linda
Are you kiddig me! Those men make the story lines work. If you don’t have them, am regret to say this, but I won’t be back to watch. Might as well as pack up the mobster show now. Thats what is now. Its really sad to try to sit down for an hour and to watch more violence, we get enough of that on the daily news. Sad days with GH gone are the days when you could sit there and get away from your troubles, and get involved with real soap opera love stories.
These 3 aren’t going anywhere. They just plan to hold GH hostage for a huge salary. To give it to them you will probably see ALOT of other actors let go. Actors forget it the ACTOR everyone loves it is the character. On another show none of them would amount to anything, The won’t let this fame they hold on GH go all that easy
Seriously, I don’t think I would watch GH for sure if they all left. That being said, I am one of the complainers about the mob stuff. I hope because we complain about mob stories being so strong that TPTB think we don’t want our super actors anymore? If people weren’t being in court and killed every five minutes I wouldn’t mind the mob so much. Love Diane and Max. Mix the senior actors that so far have only been shown on Soap Net. They are what made the show.

Ric’s a sleazebag that should have died after he locked Carly in a panic room. He’s only gotten worse since then trying to kill Liz and cheating on Alexis with her daughter. I hope he goes. Good riddance.
If they want to leave whats the fuss? People dont stay in the same jobs for ever and im sure they want the chance to do other things. They all have families so maybe they want to spend time with them. Whatever the reason and truth i hope they do whats best for them and their families!

i love this show. no other soap has the mop. that makes the show what it is today. it has always been in the show it better not go out. if sonny and jason leave so do i…. i have watched this show for many years for jason and sonny. the way they get in trouble and always get out. they are the main guys in the show. it’s such a good soap just the way it is don’t change it.

AGAIN,JASON IS MY LOVEBIRD….FOR LIFE. I ONCE EMAILED THE SHOW AND ASKED FOR HIS TOE NAIL CLIPPINGS,HMMMMMM THEY NEVER GOT BACK TO ME
I like Ric to stay. Besides I like his scenes with Sonny, Jason and others.
NO, not Jason, he is what keeps the show going, without him I wouldn’t watch General Hospital.
