Here Today, Gone Tomorrow - More on Dante

Rumor has it that we may not see Sonny's new offspring, Dante Falconeri, until some time in the new year. Reports surfaced recently that the news about actor David Lago (ex-Raul, Young and the Restless) taking the role of Dante were false. Other rumors included actor Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan, Guiding Light) being offered the role and turning it down.
It may not be that the info was false; it may be that the news was linked prematurely and that the deal fell through. Nevertheless, at this moment, there apparently is no Dante yet.
I personally would love to see a young newcomer in the role, a fresh face to daytime. What does everyone else think?

Honestly, that is the first good thing I have heard from the GH camp. I so was not looking forward to Sonny becoming a father again!! Obviously the writers aren’t either, or they would have someone by now.
Unlike Debra, I was very interested in seeing Sonny as a farther to a young adult. Seeing him BS Michael, Morgan and Christine is sorta sad because he always can get away with anything negative said about him b/c they do not yet fully understand..well Michael understood somewhat but that understanding landed him in a coma. But someone who first finds out he has a daddy and then to know it’s Sonny Carinthos…that makes for a great storyline that those characters will have to work with.
Yes but Sonny Correntho’s as a young adult’s father?? How embarrassing is that?? I wouldn’t wish that on anyone..besides..no matter who the character is, I hate when a grown child pops up from the past. JMO
Ramondo has a point. That would also give Sonny a different storyline. I was originally hoping that after a year they would bring Michael back 5 years older but the Dante idea will work too. I’m ready for Sonny to be out of the Mob and run a legitimate corporation and be a little cruel. Let Jason and Jonny be the new mob duo. They work well and look good together. I hope that Jason and Sam gets back together too. Elizabeth and Lucky. Johnny and Lulu. Laura and Scotty. Tracy and Luke.
I’ve watched GH for almost 30 years and am so tired of the new writing. OUR characters would never behave the way they have them today. Dante will be a nice change as long as they make him person not a puppet. Get back to the romance and affairs and please cut back on the violence. Can watch the news for that. NO more kids shot, on the brink of death and more couple story lines. Olivia and Sonny have potential.
I wanted to see Olivia go back to BH leave my skate alone..

i really think the writters shouldnt bring sonny another kid especially much older.. because just like deigo alcazar came and went so will sonny’s new kid.. my husband sonny has suffered enough in life..
Can someone tell me why the Mr. Quartermaine character is wearing a cap, these last few weeks?
I really don’t want to see another of Sonny’s ‘get.’ I am sick of the whole Sonny and his fambly thing. General Hosptial has been ruined with too much of Sonny and his mob. There is hardly a character now who isn’t connected to the mobsters in one way or another. Romance exists only in connection with the mob. Sonny has long outlived his time and needs to sink into the background or just go.
i rather not have another sonny brat he has more kids then the sperm bank… i wish they bring back AJ AND ALAN AND EMILY GEORGIE . AJ FIGHTS TO BRING HIS SON MICHEAL OUT OF HIS COMA.. AJ WAS A GOOD GUY TILL CARLEY SCREW HIS HEAD BY TAKEN HIS SON, WELL I WANT THE WRITTERS TO BRING AJ BACK, TO OUR LOVEABLE AJ….. AND DR Q FINDS HIS WAY BACK HOME TO HIS ONE AND ONLY LOVE… LUKE FIND OUT HE REALLY MARRIED TO LAURA, ALICE SLIPS TRACY THE DIVORCE PAPERS THINKING SHE SIGN ELQ PAPPER WORK. LAST YEAR SO THE WED LUKE MADE WAS REAL….
i agree, there are WAY too many mob connections. EVERYONE is related to Sonny. He’s practically his own brother-in-law at this point.
