Rumor: Mickey Mouse Making Big Budget Cuts

According to rumors, Disney, which owns ABC, is cutting down daytime television salaries severely, in a move which will affect not only the actors, but the producers and others who work on the shows. The soaps affected will be All My Children, One Life to Live, and General Hospital. As someone pointed out, however, the actors could have it a lot worse. They could have been on Days of Our Lives.

No, they just fired the two stars of the show, Dierdre Hall and Drake Hogstyn.
If Disney is cutting back, they should cut Regis Philbin’s salary, he is getting an increase, they should be cutting his salary in half instead

TO SOLVE THE SALARY COSTS AND THE PROBLEMS AT GENERAL HOSPITAL WHY DON’T THEY JUST GET RID OF MAURICE BERNARD AND THE MOB!!! FOR THE LAST TIME HE AND THESE MOB STORIES ARE RUINING THE SHOW!! Disney needs to take off those &^*( reality shows. Leave our soaps alone. What are we going to watch when the actors quit and they have to cancel all the soaps? PLEASE GET RID OF THE REALITY SHOWS!!! LEAVE DAYTIME ALONE!!!
i agree with miki talk shows need to go! reality show are stupid i have enough crap in my life i want to ecape mine, i watch soaps si forget my crap i have to deal with like 1 pm to 4pm dont talk to me
I like Drake…He’s always good for comedy effect. Get rid of Sammie already!!!
GH: Get rid of Tony Geary. His part has been horrible the last couple years, and he gets half the year off anyway.
I hate the reality TV crap as well. The talk shows are just as bad. I don’t watch either one. Leave us to our daytime..
I’m broken hearted over the firing of Marlena and John. Oh you know who I mean. I only watched because of them and the actress that plays Nicole. Now they went and made her miscarry. I’ll watch while they are still on and i’m done. They drive away their watchers with this crap. Get rid of a ton of newbies (no offense) but maybe they would get back to real story lines.
As for AMC, OLTL and GH. I hope they do what is right. If they want the fans to stay and who is more loyal than a soap fan, they have to find a middle ground. I’ve watched ever since I can remember and I just turned 62 so please save our stores. Love and comedy are important too

I think General Hospital is the best show on TV. Good writers and excellent actors.
leave the soaps alone, ABC!!! i watch very little network TV. GH is one of the few Big 3 stattion shows i pay attention to.
They cant cut our soaps. that is horrible!
I watch 4 soaps a day. Im a housewife. That fills my bordom. I watch Young and The Restless. All My Children. One Life to Live and General Hospital. and have been watching soaps for 18 years. If they cut these soaps there are going to be alot of unhappy moms and housewives. not to mention others.
Soaps are relaxation. They help people. They keep people happy. and give them routine.
Please dont take that from us.
