Stuart Damon Returning to Daytime...On Another Soap

Our beloved Stuart Damon, who played Alan Quartermaine for 31 years, is headed to As the World Turns , according to a report in Soap Opera Digest.
Damon's character was killed off during the MetroCourt crisis. Viewers were outraged. Alan then returned from time to time as a ghost.
Now it seems that As the World Turnshas him, along with Lynn Herring.
General Hospital's loss is now another gain for ATWT.

I just left a comment on GH section & now read this congrads about Stuart D &Lynn H @ ATWT both excellent actors- I’ll be watching you as well as BB-which I am a fan of – it’s great for the new , fresh, young actors but seasoned ones should not be omitted – we all learn technique & style from each other – most importantly all need a good story & that unfortunately is what GH is lacking
Good for him! As the world turns is getting all of General hospital’s great actors, while general hospital is left with the non-talented Sonny! The shows love of the mob is sinking a once great show!

I am glad for him but I am completely bummed. GH needs to get it’s act together. While they may feel some of these actors/characters are not essential to their show they are clearly coveted in the soap world. GH needs to realize that.

GREAT FOR DAMON! Looks like I may have to start watching ATWT now that they are grabbing all of GH’s talent. They are building a dream cast over there. Too bad the writers at GH didn’t see the writing on the wall. How many more shootings and mob storylines must we be forced to swallow. I’ve just about had enough.

General Hospital’s loss is ATWT gain. Stuart Damon is a great actor,and GH let him go…wrong move.General Hospital is sinking lower and lower,in the ratings. Too much mob storyline and not enough realistic storylines. Sonny needs to get killed off,he’s useless.They should’ve kept Ric, and got rid of Sonny.
I hate to admit it, but I’ve stopped watching GH for the first time since its inception (I started watching with my grandmother and mom when I was teeny-tiny—-I remember when Audrey was the ingenue). Im so tired of what they did to Luke and Laura, the Quartermaines, etc. and I’m SICK of the mob, the shootings, the stabbings, the BLACK clothing everyone involved with those storylines is always wearing (I’m guessing they even wear black UNDERWEAR). I am definitely going to be giving ATWT a try for the first time, now that they’re getting so much GREAT talent from the GH stable. I have MISSED Stuart Damon and Lynn Herring! I’m really happy for them finding someone who appreciates what they bring to a show! Buh-bye, GH!

Some of the new young actors are good,but let’s not forget who “made” General Hospital. That would be the seasoned actors and actresses,like Stuart Damon. Such a shame that
the powers that be on GH are forgetting that.
I just started watching ATWT because I heard that Lynn was going over there, but they already have Julie Pinson (Eve from PC), Jon Lindstrom (Kevin Collins), Marie Wilson (Karen from PC), Roger Howarth (the original Todd Manning), Cady McClain (Dixie from AMC)and now Stuart! It is like many of the best actors from ABC are now on ATWT. Plus the show moves along, they are in the coffee shop, then they are at home in the next scene. No sense of real time, but it is okay.
Another BRILLANT move on GH’s part! How many more are they gonna let go, only to get picked up by another soap??
like dallas did,stuart damon could have been brought back as a twin or just himself ..gh is going to lose more following..luke and laura live on and on and bring back those that watched their original wedding like i did..i was a daily watcher but now stop in from time to time ….younger faces doesnt make the show anymore exciting..the older characters win the viewers. gh needs to keep the chore characters and their families front focus and you’ll have a winner

I quit wathcing GH when they killed Alan off. I quit watching soaps altogether. But as monday will start watch ATWT to get to know it’s storie line before Stuart arrives. Good Luck Stuart.
