About Yesterday's Show - Some Holes

Thursday July 9, 2009

Holes I call them - you could drive a truck through them.

I want to know how Michael Corinthos, after a year in a coma, gets a permit without taking the test. I don't care who Jacks knows.

Given the fact that everyone can walk into everyone else's houses in Port Charles, okay, maybe Kristina didn't lock up (though after that visit from Dante/Dominic, I would have). So Andrea walks in, sits at a computer that apparently, even with confidential information in it and young children in the house, one doesn't have to sign into with a password.

She then sends a bunch of emails to her husband from Alexis. So Alexis' email doesn't have a password either? And what are the dates of these emails? The same?

In order to change the date and time of each email, Andrea would have to manually change the time and date in the computer. That's do-able. But to send that many emails would take hours. Also, I'm sure that a look at the computer would reveal that the time and date were being changed every other minute.

On top of which, when the mayor looks at his email, if Andrea didn't change the dates, he's got all these emails from Alexis. If she did, then he has unread messages from weeks ago scattered all over his email.

It is unbelievable to me that the writers don't think through these bright ideas, which, by the way, aren't too bright.

I am so tired of the two teenagers who were little kids last year. (Michael and Kristina), that I quit watching the show. They are boring!

Maybe this is turning into a show for kids instead of a soap.

Is there some part of “They need new writers” that you disagree with?

I wrote them a six page snail mail letter a few months ago. I laid out a bunch of useful directions for the show. Less mob. More hospital. Hospital scifi involvement with the upstate real nanotech economy. How about the writers of a hospital show which is supposed to have a couple of the leading brain surgeon and one of the leading chemical experimenters on the brain reading a few real science journals on brain research for a little inspiration? But hey, why work when you can recycle the same storyline and blame the actors.

In the early segment of the show, Carly stated it was a temporary license and that he had to take lessons and then a road test.
How did he do all that in a day??

That had my head spinning!

I agree with your holes – there are too many of them.

This whole mayor story line is getting old already..all the different theories and so on.

As well as the karaoke stuff – just sing already, Spinelli!

The use of computers and technology on the show makes me dizzy. I think the writers think that the audience is made up of 90-year olds who have never touched a computer before. Or maybe that describes the writing team. Remember when everyone was chasing a flash drive that had info on Lorenzo Alcazar? The flash drive was used for blackmail and no one ever thought that the info could have been transfered off the drive in three seconds. I also love when Jason tell Spinelli that he needs him NOW do basically do a Google search. i swear I heard someone mention their PDA in the past month. Maybe the show takes place in 1995 and they just haven’t let us in on it.

Hot fun in the summertime is always kiddie land in the soap world.

Can’t wait until September. Maybe the writers will close up some of the holes by then.
