Name Sought for 'Uncle Rudy'

Friday July 10, 2009

Both Soap Opera Digest and Nelson Branco report that a "name" is being sought by the producers of General Hospital to play that often talked about, never seen relative of Claudia's, Uncle Rudy.

With The Sopranos off the air, they shouldn't have a problem.

It would be nice to see them cast against type - maybe an elegant, smooth actor in the style of the late Marcello Mastroianni or Alain Delon (okay, so he's not Italian).

Of course, one must also remember that he's supposed to be related to that weasel Anthony Zacchara. It will be interesting to see who surfaces as Uncle Rudy.

Any thoughts? Preferences?

We all must admit, the saturation of mob stories has decreased and the stories in general have been much better in recent weeks. I’ve been happy anyway. So far I am enjoying the new characters and the dynamics they create as well as the new relationship of Johnny and Olivia.

As far as Uncle Rudy it would be great to see a daytime vet take that role, I’m just not sure who I would want to see take on that character.

Okay I came up with two actors. How about Paul Sorvino…classic badass mob guy or Paul Harrington, Jr. (Schneider from One day at a time) he’d be badass too, with a little humor.
