'GH' Has Ratings Climb; 'OLTL' in Gutter

This site doesn't cover the ratings weekly; it's too depressing. However, General Hospital had a lift in ratings for the week of August 31-Sept. 4, though it's climbing up from a deep place. The big loser is One Life to Live, who hit a new low in total households, ending at number 6 of 8.
GH placed #4 in total viewers, gaining 56,000 viewers, and is the highest-rated ABC soap, #2 in women 18-49, #1 in 12-17 year-old girls, and #3 in the 18-34 women range.
Since August 31-September 4 was the beginning of the carnival, there should be an additional increase.

It will not last long. This show is so mob infested!
All I can say is that I am happy right now with GH after a long time, since Jasam is finally back better than ever after three years of absolute hell.
Jason and Sam love scenes seem forced. Their chemistry is not there anymore.
It should be called bang bang shoot them up. Or how about The all about Sonny show. Not worth watching.
Jason and Sam are hot. She is equal to him. But the article was about the ratings. GH has earned their ratings with actors that are nothing short of superb. The ganster thing yeah I get a bit tired of it. But I hang it and hope for change. The “who shot Michael” bit is dragging out way to long.
One Life to Live needs new writers period. The cast is great but they keep gringing the same old same old. Except for the comedy, that they are great at.
I agree with Juan…Jason & Sam DO seem forced, they used to be much better. There’s no chemistry there any more. My Mom has always hated Sam, I used to defend her all the time because Sam made Jason happy…but now I agree with her. All the lying, crying, scheming, more lying, more crying…on and on…I’m out on that character completely…just sleep with Nik, he’s the only guy in town she hasn’t slept with yet, then go away, please!
I watch four soaps, and GH is, by far, the best! I am extremely happy that JaSam are back together again! I love the “mob,” the actors are fantastic, and if you didn’t have the mob – what action and excitement would you have? Watching GH personnel hop from bed to bed? NO thanks! I do have to agree with other viewers that the “who shot Michael” storyline needs to be resolved. As for Elizabeth/Lucky/Nicholas, that’s just not right that brothers would sleep with the same woman! We also need to have the “final” confrontation between Jason and Jerry Jax! Sebastian Roche plays the part extremely well, but it’s time Jerry gets his due. I like Dante/Dominic with Lulu, and hope they get a bigger storyline. I’d also like to see a romance between Alexis Davis and Mac Scorpio. I’m sorry Sarah Brown is leaving the show as her character was improving after the loss of her baby. It would have been nice to see more of her “soft” side. Last, I hope they keep “Johnny Zacchara” on the show. He is great with Olivia, and it will be something to see how he deals with his feelings for her after the truth comes out about her being Dante’s mother. Hot! Hot! Hot!
OLTL is definately improving. I was glued to the screen last week
I agree with the comment that Jason and Sam are a little off this time around. I suggested that on SoapCentral and was villified for even the mere suggestion. I am glad to know that some others see that Jason and Sam are forced this time around. I really like Jason with Elizabeth, however, with JJ coming back, I don’t see that reunion happening anytime soon.
