Luke won’t stop the wedding.
It’s interesting that you think Friday’s episode marks the decline of GH when it’s the first cliffhanger Friday in ages that actually had us wanting for more.
What does Sonny have on Johnny and Anthony? We think it’s that Johnny isn’t a real Zacharra (maybe adopted). My DH says he is a Q. Wouldn’t that be fun! It would be really funny if he was another one of Sonny’s kids. Why not. Sonny has fathered practically every other kid on the show … of course, he could be AJ’s son, especially if AJ came back from the dead, and well, wouldn’t that explain why he is so fond of Michael, hmm?
And… how twisted would that make it for Anthony to marry Tracy (making her his aunt/step mom).
Anyway… the ‘possibilities’ of this make it very interesting.

As far as GH jumping the shark, Annette, you need to read the blogs – the big info Luke gave Sonny is that, so far as I know, Claudia, four years older than Johnny, was actually Johnny’s mother. Gino, Tracy’s ex-husband, is supposedly his father. I deliberately don’t have the details on that one because I find the thing so ridiculous. This was speculated when Claudia and Johnny first came on the show, and people laughed at it. That’s why I say returning to that premise is jumping the shark.
So you’re right – the situation has many possibilities, none of which were explored by the writers.
I am not a guide. I do visit blogs and because of that I know what is in the documents Luke SOLD to Sonny.
As far as Luke breaking up Tracey’s wedding, I honestly don’t know. I am basing MY opinion on who Luke is.
Either way, clearly that is not cliffhanger material imo.

I agree, it wasn’t much of a cliffhanger. And you’re right again, knowing what is going to happen contributes to that. Normally I don’t put spoilers on the home page because some people don’t want to know what’s going to happen. I was that way myself. I think one thing that has brought soaps down is the Internet and the fact that spoilers are available. As I’ve often said, you could never have a summer of people speculating who shot J.R. today. However, there are a lot of people who, like you, are either interested in knowing what’s going to happen or are on various sites and pick up info. Everyone is so different – I have people writing to me asking what happened to the old Maxie, completely unaware of any background info.
I actually think Luke won’t stop the wedding because of ANOTHER spoiler, a minor one, that is actually part of the spoilers for this week. But I agree, just looking at Luke’s personality is another way to figure it out. I really liked him with Tracy.
I LOVED Luke with Tracey, however, Luke in general is a piece of crap. I don’t care for his character much at all.
I never read spoilers for OLTL so I could have one soap I am surprised with. However, does anyone really know what is going to be with GH in the next few months?? I don’t think so. I would take everything with a grain of salt until it airs.
We know KS isn’t coming back. We know ME is coming to GH.
And we know that Ron is writing for GH and is going to turn on his magic. Hopefully he will have success and we will go on enjoying our GH.
But that is all we really know.
It is nice to hear people stating that they enjoyed the ending of GH. We all have different likes & dislikes.
I’m all for people liking the show. What I like best is that the blogs engender discussion from active viewers like you.
I believe the reason Luke has become such a mess is to keep Tony Geary interested. What I really, really don’t like is this revisionist history they have done with the character, having him cheat on Laura and be so miserable as a husband and father. That’s not the way I remember it.
However, I will say that the scene between Luke and Alexis at Kelly’s was fabulous – he said I don’t mean to make people miserable and she says yes, but you always do make people miserable. Their back and forth was just great.
Is it just me, or has the writing gotten better? It is so strange that the executive producer has improved the show after she got fired. She should have done this years ago. (Johnny should stop teasing these women and give them what they want!) Also I see another writer is helping Garin. Maybe she is doing this great writing. I would like to also say that Carly should have made Johnny go through with their deal. After all, a deal is a deal and she should have forced him to go through with their negotiation. Also Jax seems to be better now than he was in the past. He is no longer the young arrogant man trying to seduce Lois when he first came on the show. He has matured into a great man who had very toching scenes with Michael. They look more like father and son, than Michael and Sonny.

That along with the new spoilers that are out, things are happening very fast on GH. If I wasn’t ’so sure’ the show was staying, I would swear they have written the end already.

I think I stopped reading most blogs and most tweets as the comments evolved into how much people ‘hate GH’ etc, etc, etc but suffer through to ’save the medium’.
I like GH. Most people just like to hate, or jump on the hate wagon.
Sure, the writing could be better, but I don’t want to read the negative opinion all of the time on a show I started watching as a baby on my grandmother’s knee. If it lasts 3 months, 6 months, a year or 2, I would like to enjoy it.
Maybe for me there is no shark to jump because I WANT to like GH and if I enjoy it, I enjoy it. So what? I can’t be the only viewer on the planet who enjoys what I have left. I do still visit your site on occasion.
Part of the FUN is the speculation…I don’t think that should be confined to ‘released material’ but that we should use our imagination. I speculated here that Jake was alive long before that was released. I argued that Franco or Helena or Anthony could have kidnapped him and swapped him for someone else. Now I’ve read even here that Jake ‘could’ be alive and Steve may have had something to do with it.

Claudia as Johnny’s mother?
Well, my husband and I always thought that Anthony raped her when she was a child which makes it possible for her to have given birth as young as 5 or 6 according to Google.
This keeps Johnny Anthony’s son, and of course, makes the GH writers continually a sad, sick, wretched bunch.
Yikes.. and my imagination goes there. Too many of those “Flowers in the Attic” books when I was a teen.
How sad if we’re right on that old thought as I have grown to like Anthony, and this is something I’d forgotten about: there was a lot of sexual innuendo with Anthony towards Claudia.
Sigh. Poor Johnny. I guess two wrongs can make a right.

I wrote a blog a few blogs ago about negativity toward GH. I explained that in my own case, it’s because I know what it can be and I so want it to be that way. If you think that I’m not hoping and praying that it stays on the air, you’re wrong. I’ve been watching since the ’60s, and I have some wonderful memories of the show — and I’m still having them. I received a wonderful email today from the manager of the band Port Chuck, and I was just thinking last night how sad it would be not to have access to all these wonderful actors.
Actually, as Ron pointed out, the writing seems better. The dialogue certainly is. That scene with Luke and Alexis was wonderful, and there were some great scenes today. And I thought Anthony’s pink tie was a nice touch.
I agree that part of the fun is the speculation, and I discussed that today regarding spoilers. I think spoilers have done just that — “spoiled” the fun of not knowing what’s going to happen. But that’s the Internet.
I admit I’m not happy about Johnny being Claudia’s son — I would have been had she just been more than four years older than he is. Fourteen years older, okay. Thirteen years older, okay.
I understand perfectly how you feel – which is why I encouraged people to send in those coupons and get others to do the same. No one wants to see GH end. We just want to see it reclaim some of its old glory.
If everyday, could be as well done as today was……..we wouldn’t be speaking cancellation.
Did GH ROCK today or did it ROCK? Jax, Kate, Sonny, Tracey, Papa, Luke, Johnny, Robin & Patrick. The only one who didn’t ROCK today were bouncy Maggie scenes.

I’ve always thought GH had great dialogue writers and that the problem was that the storylines had started to run out of steam, or were repetitive, or rehashed, or whatever. But the dialogue, when given an actual story, is almost always wonderful.
I’m not convinced on Gino, yet.
Perhaps he could have been put on the birth certificate as Anthony had something over on him.
It would look really awful to put Anthony on the birth certificate.
Or.. I could be totally wrong.
It doesn’t matter to me, I’m just speculating on a storyline that could still change any day down the road.
I sent in my coupons, I watch on DVR, watch online, on my iPad, and run the TV during the day. I have written letters and called.
I post comments on FB posts and remind my friends and family to support GH and not support other ABCD efforts.

I honestly don’t see the show tackling incest at this point – I know they’ve taken on some very tough subjects, but the show is in a very iffy position right now. Given that Claudia would have to have been very young, it’s an icky prospect. But then I put nothing past them. Writer Jamey Giddens called this storyline something like the DUMBEST A** GH Plot Twist Ever..

It’s only recently that I remember how much innuendo there was (at least to our recollection) between Anthony and Claudia.
As these stories tend to wind and bend as time goes by no one ever knows.
Claudia could have been ‘older’ and Johnny was ‘told’ she was younger so that they would bond as brother and sister. Or some such nonsense.
Who knows? The writers figure it out as they go. Long gone are the days of the GH Bible.
I do know that I love Luke and Tracy together – they were adorable today.
I have always liked Carly and Johnny, and I’m glad someone finally mentioned the ‘drinking’ to Lulu.

Yes, there were some weird vibes all around. The writers do that on purpose to see what develops, who clicks with whom etc. When a story line starts, sometimes no one is sure where it’s going. I remember Jackie Zeman telling me that – they do a lot of testing. So yes, there were a lot of questions around the Zaccharas.

You know, when they first tossed around Michael’s rape, or Jake being killed, or Franco raping Sam everyone hoped ABCD wouldn’t dare go there.
I put nothing past the writers in terms of low/awfulness. But it is the shock that gets attention, press, and viewers (I guess).
