A Magic Genie Returns to 'General Hospital'
It was a welcome sight to General Hospital viewers when Laura Spencer emerged from her catatonic state to comfort her emotionally-ravaged daughter, Lulu.
We are looking forward to Francis' scenes, which either take place for real or in Lulu's mind. However it turns out, Genie Francis is always a welcome addition to General Hospital. In a recent interview, Francis, whose new haircut and recent weight loss enhance her beauty, states that she and her husband, actor Jonathan Frakes, are moving back to Los Angeles and pursuing their love of acting again. Here's hoping the producers can find a way to keep Francis around a lot longer.

Rick Hearst Still in 'General Hospital' Negotiations
Rick Hearst, who plays devilish Ric Lansing on 'General Hospital', is still in contract negotiations with the producers, according to various reports. Should Hearst make the decision to stay with 'General Hospital', word is that his contract may be downgraded. Whether that means less money and recurring status or just less money isn't known.

Perkie's Observations for the 'General Hospital' Episode of August 27
Ahhhhh, my man Ric in a suit. My day is complete!!
Still no sign of Jason though. Did someone forget to let him know about Spinelli? Because that’s just silly. Oh, and Mac, while you’re at the hospital, being the eleventy millionth person to talk Robin into marrying Patrick, you might want to pop by Spinelli’s room and find out the details of that pesky hit and run he was a victim of and check in on your daughter, who’s worried sick about her best friend.
Interesting that Robin mentioned Robert having chemo, yet didn’t give us more details than that. Sure, everyone watching Nightshift would know that he has cancer, but those of us who don’t would likely be confused. Oh, and Mac, while you’re at the hospital, being the eleventy millionth person to talk Robin into marrying Patrick, you might want to pop by your brother’s room and see how he’s doing
Hey Scotty, there’s this thing called conflict of interest. Look it up.
While I appreciate when we finally have a new “day” in the land of PC, I do wonder what happened to some of the stories/situations we were watching yesterday. The last we saw Sam, Jerry was all up in her grill and Lucky was listening in. Yet today, LuSam are all lovey dovey with no real mention of how Sam got rid of Mr Smarm. The last we saw CarJax, they were having their umpteenth fight about Karpov and Jason and the mob, and Jason, and Karpov and the mob. Today they’re doing the nasty, literally while Kate watches and all fighting has stopped.
I continue to love Diane and her disgust for all things Sonny!! She gets the line of the day:
Diane: “It’s bad manners to invite your ex wife to your wedding. Especially when your still having sex with her.
Sonny: “Sleeping with Carly was an accident."
Diane: “How does that work? “Whoops, we’re naked. Anyone remember what happens next?””
Color me shocked that, not only did Jax know the truth about Kate setting up Carly, but that he actually got his information right and then confronted Kate. I’m not a fan of Carly’s, but that kind of served Kate right. And, did I imagine it, or did Jax say that Crimson had, in fact, launched? Because if it did, it was with very little fanfare, all things considered.
Foreshadowing (and incredibly naïve!!) line of the day: Sonny: “I don’t want Carly at our wedding.” Kate: “How can Carly ruin our wedding? What can she possibly do?”

Chad Allen Joins 'General Hospital: Night Shift' Cast
Actor and advocate Chad Allen, who played Matthew Cooper on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman is joining General Hospital: Night Shift for three episodes. He plays a patient, Eric Whitlow, who comes in for a liver transplant and develops a strong relationship with his doctor, Kyle Julian (Adam Grimes).
Allen's decision to "come out" as gay nearly stopped his career once Dr. Quinn ended in 1997, even though he had been acting since the age of five. However, he now has one film, On the Other Hand, Death out in 2008, and four others in post-production, so he seems to be doing very well now. Allen is well known and admired for his advocacy and charity: He has done exemplary work for the Toy Mountain Campaign and is on the Honorary Board of Directors for The Matthew Shepard Foundation. As an actor, he co-founded the Creative Outlet Theater Company in 1995 and enjoys doing theater when he's not involved in filming.
'General Hospital' Fall Preview
Here is what's being written around the Internet regarding future plans for storylines on General Hospital.
- Sonny and Kate will get married, so I guess we can expect to see Kate's big do. The old Sonny is never far behind the new and improved one.
- Karpov will be sticking around as Jason's nemesis. Spinelli, Elizabeth, Carly, Jax and Maxie will be involved in a story arc surrounding something to do with Karpov or an incident will occur that will bring them together.
- Max has told his father that he runs the organization, so there's a problem when Big Daddy shows up. Max's dad (Vincent Pastore) falls for Diane!
- Carly and Jax will still be having problems.
- Look for Matt to have a secret that is uncovered. (Different rumors: He's related to Patrick or he's with the DEA or both). He will be the third angle in a Maxie-Spinelli sort of romantic triangle. Another coupling will be Nikolas and Nadine. Lucky and Sam will become more involved with the counterfeit drug situation and do more of the Luke and Laura thing.
- There is a question that's been hinted at previously - Is Laura really out of her catatonic state or is Lulu hallucinating? We will find out. Luke returns and will be part of this situation as well. (Rumor: The producers have asked Genie Francis to stay a little longer - fingers crossed!
- The Zaccharas will continue to be a force, and there are going to be a lot of surprises.
- Drake and Scorpio will continue to be Drake and Scorpio, not Mr. and Mrs. Drake for the moment. The baby's due around the end of October.
- Johnny will go to trial. Edward is going to be called as a juror. In order to get out of it, he will say he is having severe financial problems. It looks like that ploy doesn't work, and Edward will be on the jury. Don't ask how it's possible. It's General Hospital.

Is Rick Hearst Leaving 'General Hospital'?
At the end of the latest round of contract negotiations, General Hospital and its fans may be without the presence of three of its most important stars: Maurice Benard (Sonny), Steve Burton (Jason) and Rick Hearst (Ric).

Congratulations, Julie Marie Berman and Michael Grady!
General Hospital's Julie Berman is much happier than the character she portrays, Lulu Spencer. On August 15, 2008, she became the bride of Michael Grady, a Los Angeles real estate broker.
The couple married in the Sacred Heart Chapel at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles in a Catholic ceremony. Berman is 24, and her new husband is 27. Berman wore a gown designed by Monique Lhuillier.
Several General Hospital cast members attended the wedding, including Kirsten Storms, who plays Lulu's nemesis Maxie, Greg Vaughan (Lucky), Jane Elliot (Tracy) and Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth).
Julie, we wish you and Michael much, much happiness.
