Saturday April 12, 2008
Michael Corinthos was shot—in the head—and may never wake up again. And for what? Well, if it were up to Bob Guza Jr, GH head writer, we would all believe this 12-year-old boy was shot as a consequence of his recent playing with guns. But we know better, don’t we, loyal GH watcher— we know that this poor boy is not paying the consequence of his stupid choice to buy a gun; instead, he is paying for the sins of his father, Sonny. Happy Birthday 'General Hospital'

Tuesday April 1, 2008
It was 45 years ago today that our television screens were lit up with the antics of the doctors, nurses, and staff of General Hospital. Many felt that the serial wouldn't last much more than a year, but nearly a half century of programming has proven them wrong. It's popularity had pushed it from a 30 minute spot in the 60's to today's full hour episodes, a scripted wedding written up in Time Magazine, and a spin off 'Port Charles' to boot. So in honor of it's 45th birthday, let's take a stroll down memory lane.

A Time to be Born

Monday March 17, 2008
There's something about springtime. Something about the slight rise in temperatures that melts away the dirty snow and brings in the crisp cool breeze that smells like, well, Spring! We can walk outside without wrapping our arms around our bodies and shivering. We can see the green of the dormant grass and plants peak through and offer a sign of life that we thought would never come again. With the coming of spring, one thinks of positivity, reconciliation, change, enlightenment, of new life and new beginnings. Life in Port Charles seems to be mimicking this seasonal shift, and it promises brighter beginnings and a few sorrowful endings. More Weekly Reader

Nikolas Needs Her

Sunday March 2, 2008
I saw this coming from the moment Nadine walked into General Hospital. I knew she wasn't coming into GH merely as a hospital staff filler. I knew she wasn't going to be Spinelli's angel. I knew she wasn't there to clear her sister's name…no, her true destiny was and always has been to help Nikolas recover from his illness, from his loss of Emily. Nadine and Nikolas are meant to be. It's almost mystical isn't it? Like God took one angel from Nikolas and sent him another. I feel all warm and tingly inside, don't you? Okay, all kidding aside, I really do like where this Nadine and Nikolas union is heading.
