On MONDAY, MARCH 31, in celebration of "General Hospital's" 40th Anniversary, ABC Daytime presents "Mind Blowing Monday," two heart-wrenching hours of "General Hospital" and an action-packed, surprise-filled hour of "One Life to Live." "General Hospital" will air the special bonus hour during the "All My Children" timeslot, and it will also air in its regular time period. As part of the celebration, each episode of "General Hospital" during the week of March 31 will feature a 30-second memory at the end of each show. Viewers will be treated to significant memorable moments from the last 40 years. "We're calling this event 'Mind Blowing Monday' because of the incredible range of entertainment this day offers. Nobody should miss this day on ABC Daytime. 'General Hospital's' Sonny Corinthos is forced to choose between his love for his wife and his desperate desire for a family, while on 'One Life to Live,' Dorian Lord is back - and, if you think she was bad before, just you wait," previewed Brian Frons, president, ABC Daytime.

"We had tremendous success when we aired a special hour of 'Port Charles' in the 'One Life to Live' time period, and we hope to duplicate that success for 'One Life to Live' with the strong lead-in from 'General Hospital.'" In the two-part episode of "General Hospital," the usually formidable Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) finds his worst nightmare coming true, as he's faced with a decision of life and death that no husband or father should ever have to make. The outcome of that choice will have enormous emotional impact on both Sonny and Carly (Tamara Braun). Sonny reconciles with his estranged best friend and protector, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton), as the danger surrounding his family continues to escalate and his ability to handle it emotionally drastically diminishes. Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) struggles between his love for his wife, Laura, and the need to move on with his life. Alexis Davis' (Nancy Lee Grahn) actions to save her child have unexpected consequences and lead her to take desperate measures. A shocking revelation, a major confession and a lover's betrayal are all in store for "Mind-Blowing Monday" on "One Life to Live." On February 23, 2000, Dorian Lord Hayes, portrayed by Emmy-Award winning actress Robin Strasser, said goodbye to Llanview, and on Monday, March 31, 2003, she's back and ready to cause trouble the way only she knows how (she will first be seen on Friday, March 28.) Dorian returns to Llanview when it appears that her niece, Blair (Kassie DePaiva), needs her most, and the truth about her shocking secret threatens to rock Llanview, especially her lifetime nemesis Victoria Lord Davidson (Erika Slezak). While Dorian is making her entrance, Lindsay (Catherine Hickland) is ready to confess to a deadly crime. Will she be able to go through with it and return to a life behind bars? Police Commissioner Bo Buchanan (Robert S. Woods) has found love with reformed bad girl Gabrielle Medina (Fiona Hutchison). But when Gabrielle uncovers a major secret that could change Bo's life forever, and possibly her life with him, she has to decide whether or not to tell him the truth or resort to her old deceptive behavior. "General Hospital" first aired on the ABC Television Network on April 1, 1963. Storylines over the years which have garnered critical acclaim and media attention include: Robin and Stone's love story, in which Stone transmits the HIV virus to his girlfriend Robin, and later dies of AIDS; Monica Quartermaine's battle with breast cancer; Maxie's heart transplant, and Alan Quartermaine's drug addiction. Other ground-breaking stories include the romance of Luke & Laura, culminating in the legendary wedding -- which remains the most watched Daytime television event to date, with nearly 30 million viewers tuning in to witness the nuptials. The fictional couple's romance garnered a cover story on both Newsweek and Peope magazines. In May 2001, TV Guide bestowed the number-two position -- out of 20 -- to Luke & Laura's Wedding in a countdown of Television's Greatest Weddings. In February 2003, in a primetime special on NBC, the wedding of Luke & Laura was named as one of television's most memorable weddings.
