6/09/2000...Cuddled
up on the couch in Jax’s absence, Chloe has another music box dream, only this
time there is a bottle of port wine involved.
Alexis arrives and tells a sleepy Chloe that Stefan is her only hope in
getting the drugs she needs. After
defending Stefan’s “nice” side to Chloe, she takes off to enlist
Stefan’s help.
Maxie assures Felicia that
she is not confused about her family situation and insists that she and Georgy
want to live with Mac. Both
daughters indicate they only believe that Mac wants them, not Felicia, and that
they are tired of all the tension and discourse in the household.
Felicia takes off to find Mac and beg him to come home and by the time
she reaches his office, she is close to hysteria.
Mac is inside with Lucky telling him that even though he signed off on
the final papers on the kidnapping case, he can recant his statement anytime.
Mac and Luke exchange a few barbs, Mac and Lucky relate to one another
for a brief moment, and Luke charges out into the street in a fury and knocks
into some garbage cans. The noise startles Felicia and as she sobs and rambles on
about her lack of control and how mean Mac is, Luke prevents her from going into
the police station in her present state. She
agrees with his assessment of her demeanor and he takes her to a hotel.
As he starts to leave for home, she asks him to stay.
Mac goes home to the girls and they all concur that them living with Mac
would be best for all concerned.
Laura and Stefan continue
their discussion of their failed relationship and delve into their reasons for
deceit and the lessons they have learned. Stefan
points out the irony in the fact that he lied to Laura to gain her trust and she
left him because she lost trust in him. They
curtly end their meeting and Andreas approaches Stefan with the yacht
invitation.
Lucky, Liz and Nik talk about
Lucky, Liz and Nik. Lucky tells Liz
he’s not pushing her away, he’s letting her go.
Liz tells Lucky she will love him forever, no matter what he thinks or
how he feels. Nik denies any
romantic feelings for Liz and they all split up for the night.
A short while later, Nik and Laura talk about male-female relationships,
particularly Laura and Stefan’s, and Nik tells Laura he can sympathize with
loving someone with all your heart and knowing that you’ll never be “the
one.”
Helena prepares for
Stefan’s arrival by spiking the port wine with a ghastly substance.
The wine bottle is exactly the same one Chloe saw in her dream.
Stefan and Helena banter about maternal love, reconciliation, and the
fine line between love and hate. She
suggests that he has so impressed her of late that they should join forces to
secure Nikolas’ happiness and after insulting Stefan for his tedious attention
to detail, they make a toast to the survival of the fittest.
After Luke decides to stay,
things heat up in Felicia’s hotel room where intimate conversation and
romantic reminiscing lead to cuddling culminated in steamy sex.
Chloe falls into sleep once again and is tormented by a dream of Stefan collapsing and writhing at Helena’s feet, an apparent victim of a tainted glass of port. But it appears this is more than a dream as Helena stands over Stefan and informs him he will drown later that night when she throws his motionless body overboard and she once again toasts to the survival of the fittest.
