Seventeen-year-old Lexi Ainsworth has one of the most difficult roles on General Hospital - that of Alexis Davis' daughter with mobster Sonny Corinthos, Kristina. With Alexis thinking about grades and a good college, Kristina leads a double life - diligent student by day/girl with a physically abusive boyfriend by night. Ainsworth handles both roles like a professional many years her senior.
Background
Born October 28, 1992 in Oklahoma City, "Lexi" was born Alexandra Danielle Ainsworth. Her dad was a dentist, and her mother worked as a school teacher. Lexi was a dancer first, from the age of six, working with a local ballet company. She later appeared in musicals, and then was cast as Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird, for which she received her union card. Ainsworth became interested in film and television after attending a film camp in New York, which she followed up with an acting boot camp in Los Angeles. There, an agent saw her and began submitting her for commercials. Among the commercials in which she appeared was one for Barbie. She then moved into short films: Caroline Crossing and The Gray Man. In 2008, she was cast in a feature film, Wild Child, as Emma Roberts' sister.
Ainsworth's television appearances include the NBC TV series Medical Investigation, Gilmore Girls, and iCarly, before joining the cast of General Hospital in 2009.
The petite, 5'1" actress, in her role as a battered woman on General Hospital, has made public service announcements aimed at teens who might be suffering at the hands of a partner.
