Sexy and tough, Brandon Barash brought passion and heart to the role of Johnny Zacchara, the scion of mobster Anthony Zacchara, on General Hospital. Though born in St. Louis, Barash lived in Texas as well before moving to Southern California. He is a graduate of the theater program at the University of Southern California.

Barash's first television credit was on the TV series Threat Matrix in 2003, and since then, he has worked steadily, appearing on The West Wing, The Gilmore Girls, 24, and NCIS, among other shows, before landing the role of Johnny on General Hospital in late 2007.
The actor left GH in February 2013 when Johnny went to prison. He made brief appearances two additional times during the year.
Barash states that he loves working on General Hospital and would be happy to return, but as of now, he is not ready to give a substantial time commitment to the show. He wants to pursue other interests at this time.
Outside of General Hospital:
Barash is active in sports, particularly baseball, basketball, and racquetball, and plays both the harmonica and the piano. He loves not only playing music, but singing and composing it. He was a member of the Port Chuck band with other cast members: Steve Burton, Bradford Anderson, and Scott Reeves. The band continued after Burton, Reeves, and Barash left GH, and had their last booking shortly after Anderson left.
Two interests that he has that the General Hospital producers were probably not thrilled about: going on solo expeditions to Alaska and parachuting out of airplanes.
Barash has a hobby which has turned into a profession: photography. "Photography has been a passion of mine since I received a slim, shiny, and gold Kodak Disk camera for my 5th birthday," he says. Over the last years, he has produced some magnificent work, using various techniques. He has many examples on his website.
After losing his best friend to muscular dystrophy, Barash became a champion for research leading to a cure. Currently he is honorary National Vice President and National Celebrity Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. His photography supports the cause, as he donates a portion of all of his photography proceeds to the MDA.
Personal LifeBarash was previously engaged to soap actress Natalie Hall, but the couple ended their relationship. In June 2013, Barash secretly married girlfriend Kirsten Storms, who plays Maxie on General Hospital, and in early 2014, the couple welcomed a baby girl, Harper Rose Barash.
