"James Craig" and Jerry Wait for a New Identity
Craig amused himself while waiting by following Jax around and getting acquainted with Alexis Davis. Robin and Patrick figured out the antidote and cured Nikolas. Then everyone learned that James Craig was, in fact, Jerry Jacks. Jax and his mother were horrified that Jerry had done these awful things.
Emily was now in big trouble as she was an accomplice in a criminal financial transaction. Everyone who knew that Jerry Jacks and James Craig were the same person lied to the police so that Emily would be protected. Nikolas swore that he would make Jerry pay for everything he had done. Jax stood by his brother, certain that something must have happened to cause him to become so evil. Carly could not make Jax see the truth.
Jerry Threatens Jax's and Carly's Marriage
Jerry disappeared again, and Jax began to receive weird phone calls. He knew his brother was in trouble and left town to look for him, upsetting Carly, whom Jax had just married. They were certainly getting off to a rocky start, thanks to Carly's new brother-in-law. Jax seemed to put Jerry first. No sooner was Jax out of town than Jerry appeared. Jerry had set the whole thing up so that Jax would be out of town when he struck again. This time, Jerry claimed that he wanted to get to know Carly and reassure himself that she was good enough for his brother. But Jerry had a surprise in store. Jax had been kidnapped by Jerry's old girlfriend, Irina.
Enter Irina
Irina and Jerry were lovers years ago and were working together when both of them were captured. Irina was then brought to his cell, and Jerry was given a choice. Either he dies, or Irina does. Guess what Jerry chose. Irina, he believed, was murdered right in front of him. In reality, Irina was given a choice, too: work for her captors and go through a fake execution, or a real one. Guess what she chose. Irina was devastated that Jerry, after his declarations of love, had chosen to let her die. Irina raped Jax while waiting for her plan, to kill Jax in front of Jerry, could be accomplished. Irina didn't realize that Jerry regretted his choice. He was deeply in love with Irina, and when he made that decision, his guilt and self-hatred hardened him and turned him into the evil James Craig.
When Jerry found out that Irina had kidnapped Jax, all feeling for her left him, and he only wanted to rescue Jax. He killed Irina, put her into a body bag, and threw her into the ocean. Jax was revolted by what he witnessed of Jerry. He told Jerry that he never wanted to see him again. Jax returned to Port Charles, and Jerry followed.
Jerry Goes After Alexis; Michael Corinthos is Shot
Jerry began to pursue Alexis, who in fact was his ex-sister-in-law. Alexis, never one for good taste in men, went with Jerry to the black and white ball. The affair would go on over months. Jerry continued being Jerry, disguising himself as a Mr. Moreau, a mobster. The real Moreau was Ian Devlin, a new doctor at General Hospital and the man responsible for changing Jerry Jacks into James Craig. Ian was involved with Claudia Zacchara in a plot to kill Sonny. Ian, however, missed Sonny and shot Michael Corinthos instead. Jerry had tried to stop the shooting, but he was too late -- Michael had already been shot. Michael spent a year in a coma as Claudia, now married to Sonny, hid her guilty secret. Jerry knew the truth, and made Claudia's life a living hell thereafter.
Jerry did manage, in between blackmailing and other chicanery, to send a little good Alexis' way. When she informed Jerry that Anthony Zacchara had threatened her daughter Kristina, Jerry made a vow to Alexis that he would deal with it. He went to Anthony Zacchara and made it clear that should anything happen to Alexis or her family, Johnny Zacchara, Anthony's son, was a dead man.
Jerry and the Russian Mob
Jerry began working with Russian mob boss Andrei Karpov. Sam McCall went undercover working for Karpov to prove that Jerry was involved with him. Jerry framed Sam and sent her to jail; once she was out, he tried to kill her with a bomb. However, Jason Morgan saved her. Jerry kidnapped her and took her to a ship. He wanted to blow up the ship with Sam in it and fake his own death. Again, no go, because Jason rescued her. Jason and Sam escaped the ship just in time, and Jerry was trapped in a net. They believed Jerry dead, but Jax received a phone call that made him believe that Jerry was still alive somewhere.
When Claudia received a DVD in the mail, it was from Jerry. He had hidden several DVDs in Sonny's house telling about her role in Michael's shooting. Jerry informed her that she needed to find the DVDs before her role in the shooting was revealed. Kate Howard found one of the DVDs and learned the truth.
Jerry, Claudia, and Their Dirty Little Secret
Later, Jerry confronted Claudia at the Elm Street Pier and informed her that he was going to tell Sonny and Carly everything within the next few weeks. Claudia called a hit man to plant a bomb in Jerry's car. During a fight between Jason and Jerry, the bomb went off, and both men were hurt. Jerry left the hospital. Jerry was next seen in Mexico, when Sam was looking for Michael and Kristina. Sam was taken by Jerry to an old church and ordered to call Jason to join her there. She was put into a room with drug runners. Jason and Jerry shot at one another, but the roof collapsed, and Jason was trapped. Jerry shot Jason twice and disappeared. Sam escaped and found Jason and got him to a room upstairs. Jerry returned and found Jason gone. He then disappeared.
We haven't seen the last of him.
