What started out as a lie to keep Zander Smith from finding out Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston) had cancer turned into true love.
When Emily was battling cancer she didn't want her boyfriend, Zander Smith, to find out. She asked Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) to help by pretending to be in love with her. It turned out to be not so pretend - and reciprocated. In fact, Nikolas' strong love for Emily kept her from going toward that white light when she was dying!
Emily believed Nikolas to be dead when he disappeared after a car crash - she thought his body had been swept into the river. Eventually they found one another again, only to part for good (maybe) when the text message killer murdered Emily.
Just who is this tough, street smart Emily lookalike who's shown up and says her name is Rebecca Shaw? Only the writers know, and they're not telling us just yet.
