Goin' to the Chapel: 'General Hospital' Recap for Thursday, October 23, 2008

Genie Francis (Laura Spencer)

ABC/Adam Larkey
Claudia explains the whole thing to Jason about Sonny having to marry her to take over the Zacchara organization. Jason doens't think that will ever happen. Claudia thinks it will - Sonny loves the power too much, and he wants to be a boss again. If she and Jason get married, she argues, Sonny will not be able to take control of the mob - her father won't let him without that family tie. Okay, Jason says, let's do it. As always with Jason, one has no idea what he's really thinking. He looks completely miserable.

The two climb into the back seat of a limo, and Jason's driver starts for the courthouse. Claudia, of course, wants a marriage in fact, so she wants Jason to confide in her and make eye contact and talk to her and even live with her - things he has no intention of ever doing. After listening to her for an interminable amount of time, Jason asks her why she has to marry anyone.

Claudia claims that she can never leave the mob, that her brother tried once and a lot of people ended up dead. She may as well get something out of it. This is her first chance at having some power in the family, and she wants it.

Olivia corners Sonny at General Hospital about marrying Claudia. He acts like she's the spy who came in from the cold, but she points out he was yakking it up in the hall. Sonny swears that he's not marrying Claudia. He loves Kate. Olivia doesn't believe him, because she knows how badly he wants his power back. She urges him to let Kate go because she'll never be his mistress. Olivia walks away.

Olivia's phone rings, and Sonny picks it up. It's Dante. Sonny tells Dante that he didn't know that Olivia had a son. When Olivia re-enters the room, Sonny voices surprise that she has a son. Olivia's a wreck.

At the MetroCourt, Carly tells Nikolas that Jax is up to no good with the woman at the table - it's not romance, it's business. Nikolas couldn't care less. He wants to sign the papers giving him 25% of MetroCourt.

Carly attempts to find out what the attorney is doing with Jax, but Jax has warned her, so she doesn't give anything away. Jax of course wants Spoon Island as payback to Nikolas for their years of hatred. It seems amazing to me that the Corinthos family does not own Spoon Island, and it seems more amazing that if they don't, they never tried to buy it.

Spinelli and Maxie are at the MetroCourt also, having trailed Trevor from Shadybrook. Trevor writes down the name of a doctor, which is wrested from his hand by Spinelli for his handwriting analysis program. No match. Oh-oh. Trevor claims to be trying to help Lulu. Johnny doesn't want his help. He says he can be the one to help her. With help like this, poor Lulu will never get out of Shadybrook.

In Mexico, Luke and Tracy drink, and Luke tells Tracy she has ruined him for other women. They both figure out that Edward isn't going to get any charges dropped - this way, he's rid of both of them. So they decide to just go back to Port Chuckles. Luke stands and falls over backwards.

Meanwhile, back at Shadybrook, Lulu gets another note. She runs in and tells her mother that she's not crazy, and that the person must have been there moments earlier. Scott appears at the door, and it all comes together for Lulu. He's extremely menacing, talking about how much Logan loved her and how she hurt him. This time, he says, she'll pay with a lethal injection. A hand grabs onto his shoulder. He turns to find Laura yelling, "Not my daughter, you son of a bitch!" Laura's awake - some say for the first time, some say again. I say again, because the fact that Laura is awake is supposed to prove that Lulu isn't crazy. If Laura is awake for the first time, this proves nothing.
