Muddy Waters: 'General Hospital' Recap for Friday, October 31, 2008

By , About.com Guide

Robin and Patrick are standing before the altar when Robin announces to Patrick that her water just broke. The line "Is there a doctor in the house?" is spoken, and nearly everyone stands! Kelly, her OB-GYN is there and rushes to Robin, who is taken to a pew. Instead of losing time by waiting for an ambulance, Anna drives her daughter, Patrick and Kelly to the hospital in a limo - and amazingly, they all arrive in one piece, no thanks to Anna. Robin is having painful contractions, and it appears there is a problem with the umbilical cord.

Mac, Anna, Jason, and Matt wait outside nervously. Maxie is upset that her beautiful wedding planning was for naught, but Spinelli gives her the gift of a journal that he did for her. It "traces the history of beauty" using art images, literature passages, and music. Maxie is very touched.

Elsewhere in GH, Claudia visits her father, who is unconscious after surgery. She admits that she's not sorry he's okay and goes on to say that maybe they can all be a little nicer to one another now. Right on cue, Anthony wakes up and starts calling her a bitch, a snake who was willing to let him die. Johnny enters and comes to Claudia's defense - that is, he lies his face off - claiming that she was attending to Anthony when he arrived. Sonny drops by and offers to replace Anthony while he's recovering. "Marry Claudia," is all Anthony will say on that subject. Sonny refuses and walks out. Only a matter of time. The Spencer/Cassadine kids fly to LA on yet another private plane. Lulu looks through an old scrapbook/diary that Laura kept of the early days of her marriage, looking for some clue as to where in Los Angeles Scott might have taken her. It's very hard for all of them to picture a Laura and Scott in love and a Scott who was quasi-normal. Lulu seems to be able to believe it, Nikolas finds it all interesting, and Lucky thinks it's impossible.

Scott and Laura go to a Mexican restaurant that has a well where they made wishes. Laura again informs Scott that it's nice, but she's in love with Luke, her husband. Scott then drops the big bomb, that Luke and Tracy have been married for three years. Laura doesn't believe him and calls Edward, who verifies it. Scott says he's sorry, but Laura says "No, you're elated." She asks to go back to the hotel.

Luke doesn't seem to have thought things through very well. There is a credit card problem because Luke tries to use Scott's. Tracy pulls out her own, and the man at the registration desk wonders why she's registering under another name. She claims to be cheating on her husband. He checks them in. Luke wants to break into Scott's room, but nTracy announces that she's returning to Port Charles. She's not willing to watch her marriage go up in smoke. Luke chases her out of the hotel as she gets into a taxi, but she's adamant. Scott and Laura arrive back at the hotel, and Luke and Laura see one another.

Sam is busy looking for a way to clear herself of being a drug smuggler while Jerry spies on her. Matt remembers the distinctive shoes from the clinic fire. Jerry phones Sam and sets up a meeting on the docks, but when she arrives, there's no one around. It's almost too quiet. Jumpy, she pulls her gun on what turns out to be Jason. Just then, a bomb explodes and both of them are knocked against a building.

Kelly thinks a C-section might be best for Robin. Maxie prays and asks Georgie to help. Sonny is approached by Karpov's men at GH and dragged to a meeting with the big guy. It looks like Sonny is going to be chum for the fish, as he's handcuffed and has some weights attached to him so he'll sink. Karpov refuses to admit that he shot Kate, and Sonny realizes that Karpov probably didn't do it. Really, Sonny, if only this had occurred to you before. Karpov stabs Sonny, and Sonny is thrown into the water, where he sinks down, down, down.
