Just My Imagination: 'General Hospital' Recap for September 17, 2008

By , About.com Guide

Daddy Dearest? Rick Springfield (Noah), Finola Hughes (Anna), Jason Cook (Matt)

ABC/Adam Larkey

Patrick is very concerned about Matt, who will need skin grafts, and seems to really identify with him. He confesses to Robin that if he were in that bed, knowing the long road Matt has to travel, he might not want to recover. Matt's family can't be contacted about his condition or to give permission for treatment. Robin asks Anna for help. Hope she's in time; Jerry is skulking around the halls of General Hospital, probably waiting to to remove the oxygen and put a pillow over Matt's face.

Maxie and Spinelli stand over his computer, and when Jason asks what's going on, he finds out that they're planning on setting Carly up with Internet dating. He warns them it's a bad idea and suggests that they talk it over with her. Maxie is plenty snippy to Stone Cold about his attitude toward Spinelli's efforts. The dynamic duo head over to the MetroCourt to talk to Carly.

Sam pays a visit to her mom, who is very busy with the clinic fire and the end of the Zaccara trial. Sam wants to tell Alexis that she thinks Jerry started the fire, but she doesn't get the chance. Jerry drops by and arouses Alexis' suspicion by asking too many questions about the clinic fire.

Nadine wakes up and sees Nikolas asleep in a chair. He is concerned about her being released and invites her to move into Wyndemere.

Jax arrives at the MetroCourt for a staff meeting, which is only a lie from Carly so they could talk. He doesn't want to talk, and he isn't sure he wants to stay in business with her. Maxie and Spinelli arrive and present her with the idea of a new assortment of men via the Internet. Carly says she's not ready. Jax, however, seems to be - he enters with Leyla. Suddenly, Carly is very interested in, as she puts it, getting her game back.

Max and Diane are enjoying breakfast at MetroCourt and see Jax and Carly. Max not so subtlely blames the Jax-Carly debacle on the two of them discussing the situation and being overheard. Diane takes umbrage, especially when Max says it wasn't really cheating because Sonny and Carly were once married. Then he says well, it was only once. Diane asks if he's ever cheated on her. How could he, he asks, when they have a casual relationship. Well, that does it for Diane. She breaks up with him then and there. Classic man-woman scene where a fight escalates to World War III. Loved it.

Claudia is thrilled to learn that as a reward for helping to free her brother, she's going to be given some responsibility in the family business. Ric is also being given added duties.

At Shadybrook, Lulu gets a surprise visit from Johnny. Little does she know, it's probably her last. Lainey tells Johnny that Lulu's testimony was very disturbing, and she doesn't think Lulu will get better with Johnny around. Well, I think she's making a mistake but I'm not a psychiatrist. Johnny leaves Lulu a sweet note but is gone when she returns from group therapy.

Anna gets right to work on locating Matt's family. As Dr. Noah walks into the hospital floor lobby, he hears her on the phone giving tghe name Matt Randall Hunter. Noah's demeanor changes immediately and he goes to get a look at this Hunter person.

Lulu goes to her mother's room to tell her about Johnny, but she's asleep. As Lulu is slipping out, Laura calls to her. Lulu admits that she's started to wonder if the conscious Laura is a figment of her imagination since she won't let anyone see her. Just then, a doctor enters.
