Mob Rule: 'General Hospital' Recap for Tuesday, September 30, 2008

By Maria Ciaccia, About.com

Steve Burton (Jason Morgan)

ABC/Byron J. Cohen

After reading the note that says "You killed Logan" etc., Lulu goes into the hall and questions the attendant, who says that he did not put a note in her food - well, on her plate, because there was no food. Guess they're trying to compensate for all that candy people brought her. When Lulu returns to her room, she can't find the note. This is never good. She calls Johnny to come over, and when he gets there, she's hysterical and there's no note. You can see the discouragement in Johnny's eyes as he decides that Lulu is really out of it, and he's not helping her. Seeing him pulling away, Lulu becomes increasingly out of control under the orderlies come and take her away. Again, as with Laura, we don't know what's truth and what's not.

Sonny is on a real tear at General Hospital, insisting that Jason kills Karpov immediately. Jason knows the gun is Russian, but anyone could have purchased such a gun. In fact, someone did. Sonny is furious with Jason for not jumping to conclusions and lashing out and screams at him to leave, calling him a traitor. If Sonny feels that way, why not get a gun and go shoot Karpov himself? People keep talking about Jason having the "manpower," but Karpov appears not two minutes later, and he looked like an easy target to me. Sonny, in fact, attacks him, but Karpov insists he had nothing to do with the shooting and is there to offer his condolences.

Olivia is devastated by what happened to Kate, and sits crying by her cousin's bedside, telling her how proud she always was of her, and how she can still see her back in her Catholic school uniform in Bensonhurst. (By the way, I, too, went to Sacred Heart and had a Sister Loyola - I wonder if I know one of the writers!) Again, Olivia reiterates that she won't tell her secret. I still don't understand why it's KATE'S secret. Isn't it OLIVIA who's supposed to have the big secret? Olivia verbally attacks Sonny for putting Kate in danger.

Jason finally calls Elizabeth at the airport to explain what happened. She's heartbroken and upset. She returns to the hospital and puts on her scrubs.

Jax visits Carly and tells her that he fears for the safety of her and Morgan. He wants them to move into the MetroCourt. Of course, all of this thrills Carly - she knows he still loves her. She, the nanny and Morgan go to the MetroCourt with Jax. Guess they must keep a wardrobe and toiletries there because they walk in with nothing. Jax has extra security put on their suite.

Ric is stunned that a) Anthony can walk; b) he doesn't seem upset that anyone found out; c) he shot Kate; and d) he intended to shoot Kate. Anthony has a big plan, all based on two facts: Sonny is a hothead and Jason is detached. Anthony explains that he framed Karpov for the shooting. Sonny will demand immediate retaliation. So far, so good. Jason will refuse. Also correct. Sonny will then come to Anthony. They will team up and blow Jason and Karpov right out of the water. Then Anthony will kill Sonny. Port Charles will be his. Well, Sonny may be a hothead, but only in Anthony's twisted brain is he going to trust Anthony.

Claudia arrives home and announces that Karpov isn't the shooter; she believes him that he knew nothing about it. Mac and Harper question Anthony. Ric jumps in and starts laying the blame on Karpov. Anthony tells Claudia to make sure that she informs Sonny that the Zaccharas offer their support and had nothing to do with Kate's shooting.
