Any ways, the guard told the fan no going behind the table to take pictures and Rebecca said no thats ok. The guard insisted the fan could not do it and Rebecca jumped up and said, "Look it here, these people came along way to see me and if she wants to take a picture she is going to get a picture taken with me." The guard backed off and the fan got her picture. Bravo to Rebecca. From then on all the stars took pictures with the fans. I mean what did they think we were going to do, maule this people. Although there were many fans, I had my doubts about, but all in all there were no such incidents.
My next star was Billy J Warlock (AJ) talked about good looking!!! He was dressed all in black. I asked him " So Billy when are you going to be a father?" He started laughing and said, "That Sarah Brown (Carly) if she didn't get pregnant I would be having a great story by now, but I have to wait for her to get back, so it looks like in will be for November sweeps."
Stephen Nicholas (Stefan) was alot skinner than I ever could image. He looks about 25 pounds heavier on tv. And Tyler (Nikolas) was very shy. I told him I do his campaign letters and he thank me. Ingo (Jax) was a big hit that day and I waited in line longer than usual for his autograph. I had him sign my mouse pad I bought at the flea market session in the pavilion. Sitting next to him was Justin Cooper (Lucas) what a cute kid. And smart!! He and Ingo were fooling around and he was wearing Ingo's glasses to look grown up. Yes, Ingo wears glasses so it seems. Stuart Damon (Alan Q) was as delightful as I have heard. And John Ingle (Edward) was every bit of a gentlemen. Real Andrews (Taggert) is nothing at all like his character. And boy does his head shine!
During the course of the autograph session they did the raffles we all bought. There were trips to the studio and autographed magazines and numerous amounts of prizes. There were jackets certain actors wore and various other items used on the set. I won an autographed picture of Kristina Wagner (Felicia) on a Hair Styles magazine and a tape of the weddings. (Which I all ready had) But all in all it a great time was had by all. And I even believe the actors enjoyed themselves as well.
At about 4:00 pm I had to leave to help set up the Steve Burton (Jason) event. When I got to the room the line was all ready forming. We set up the tables and pictures they were selling and made sure everything was in order for this event. As I was sitting at my table in the back of the room, who walks in but the man himself. He was wearing white jeans and a light blue pull over thin sweater. Talk about a hunk!! He sat down with us in the back while he waited to be announced. As I previously mentioned I am not a shy person at all, so I went over to him and asked for his autograph (considering once the fans got to him and I had to work I would never get the chance) and proceeded to sit next to him and get my picture taken with him. He was really nice about it and even autographed a picture for my friend who couldn't attend. They called him on stage and the fans went wild. While the Q&A session was going on with Steve who sneaks in the back door, none other than Ron Hale (Mike) and Billy Warlock (AJ). They hung out in the back with us while they waited to be announced. Billy was complaining how hot it was and I said "This is not hot, where I live its 123 degrees". He asked me where that was and I told him Lk Havasu, Az. He replied back, "Oh Needles thats the pits". I jumped right into this conversation and told him blank you, (use your imagination here) Havasu is not Needles. Its on the Colorado River and its beautiful. He insisted it was the pits and way to hot. I told him you come to Havasu and see and then tell me it sucks. We both started laughing and then they called him up front. My friends couldn't believe I said that to him, and neither could I but it was a reflex. What can I say. No harm was done. I later saw Billy in the bar that evening and he told me he would have to come and check it out.
One thing that impressed me about Billy was I asked him how come he didn't have a fan club, and he explained to me that this was a job, not something he needs to make money off of from his fans. And I said but your fans enjoy and love you is that really fair to them. And he replied back that if he ever considered doing a fan club he would donate all the money to charity but it does not foresee any in the future. Now don't get me wrong the actors don't make money off of these events, but other people do. The photographers mostly do, and thats another story in its self.
There was a raffle there as well and people got various Steve Burton items. They had programs from the emmys signed by Steve and Soap Opera Digest Awards. I was lucky enough to win a 1998 Nurse's Ball T-Shirt signed by Lynn Herring. That was great since I didn't get to go to the Port Charles Dinner. At the very end they had a very large picture of Steve that they auctioned off. It started at 25.00 well before we knew it the bid was up to $1,000.00 and a chance to have your picture taken with Steve to be in one of the magazines. Steve was blown away that they bidding was so high. He was making jokes to the women like what do you doing for a living, did you win the lottery? The money was donated to his favorite charity.
