Jax Covers, Saying it's about Michael
Carly wants to know what the heck is going on between Jax and Claudia. Jax covers smoothly and says he wanted Claudia's help on persuading Michael to stay with the Quartermaines. It seems to me that all she'd have to do is act normally to drive him out, and Carly seems to be of the same opinion. She comments that Claudia wouldn't spit on them if they were on fire. Claudia is full of innuendo, but Jax remains calm.
Michael eavesdrops on his dad and Jason. He hears Sonny talk about how much he adores his son, and how the last thing he would ever want is for Michael to become a mobster. Jason is sympathetic but still adamant that Michael at this point belongs with the Quartermaines until the violence dies down. Sonny knows it's true, but it's killing him.
Michael runs downstairs and begs his father not to make him leave. Sonny is forced to agree with Jason, though, that he'll be safer there. When Carly and Jax turn up, Michael knows it's useless to fight. Jason brings him to the Quartermaines, where, except for Tracy, he's welcomed with open arms and arguing. They're getting more than they bargained for, and you can believe me on this one.
Claudia leaves the MetroCourt and meets Johnny at Jake's, where she tells him that Jax is trying to blackmail her. Johnny scoffs. He warned her months ago to get out of town, but if Jax hasn't said anything yet, the chances are, he's not going to. When Claudia arrives home, she finds Sonny depressed because Michael has gone. Claudia swears that she will never take his child away from him. Sonny doesn't look cheered by this fact.
Carly and Jax explain to Morgan that Michael is not coming home right away, but that he can visit him at the Quartermaines any time he wants. Carly promises that Michael will be home by the time the new baby arrives. The look on Jax's face is priceless.
I Doubt that Thou Loves Me - Ethan
In his slurred voice, Ethan hints around to Elizabeth that there's more to him than meets the eye. Elizabeth takes it all in with some amusement and offers to call him a cab. At the other end of the bar, Coleman queries Maxie on how to bring in more trade to Jake's - big spenders preferably. He has ideas about girls dancing on the bar. Maxie thinks girls in cages might go over better. They need the bar to serve drinks. Spinelli pushes his "Courtly love" idea - he thinks the place needs romance. He quotes from Hamlet, the quote that begins "Doubt the stars are on fire..." and Maxie has stars in her eyes. Even Coleman is impressed and looks as though he's trying to write down the quote.
At Wyndemere, Rebecca isn't sure moving in with Nikolas, although it's a great fantasy, is a good idea. She believes that he will end up regretting it. She's not alone. Then a drunken Ethan calls from Kelly's; rather than have him at Wyndemere again, Rebecca says she has a work emergency and takes off. When she gets to her room, Ethan states that he needs to be with her, someone he can trust. Boy, he must be drunk. Fortunately, he passes out.
Lulu drops in to see Nikolas during this interval. She wants to discuss Ethan. She doesn't feel like the family is really giving him a chance. Nikolas lets her know that he's invited Rebecca to move in. Lulu doesn't think it's a sound idea, but she butts out soon enough. He comments that Ethan and Rebecca seem alike, two people trying to be accepted.
It Seems Alexis Made Another Mistake
Patrick and Robin inform Alexis that they're having second thoughts about Mayor Floyd being the person who murdered Brianna. This is all Alexis needs to hear, that she announced to the press the wrong man as the killer, given the rest of her problems. Alexis does admit that she wants the right person put away, and if it's not the mayor, they should find the real culprit. Diane stops by with wine. Alexis says that she needs to resign as D.A., and Diane and Alexis toast to new beginnings.
