Grace Under Pressure
While waiting in Jax's plane for takeoff, Kate told him that she had paid Ian Devlin money out of her magazine account to protect Sonny. Spinelli got the money back, but Sonny found out about it and broke off their relationship. She basically expected Jax to throw her off the plane - after all, Devlin had shot Michael. However, Jax gave no indication of this, and they proceeded to New York. Once at the party, Kate received a warm greeting from Warren and a cold greeting from the new editor of Couture, Giselle. She tried to push all of Kate's buttons, but Kate remained cool, and Jax was helpful.
Nikolas arrived home from the hospital and received a picture drawn by Spencer. Lulu stopped by, obstensibly to check on her brother, but Nikolas knew there was more to it. She wondered how Nikolas had known Emily was the woman for him. Nikolas told her the story of his friendship with Emily and how they had bonded while she was ill with cancer. "She'll always be in my heart," he says. Lulu wonders if Johnny could be the man for her. Later, the electricity goes out due to a terrible storm. Undaunted, Nikolas said he was going out. For a man recovering from brain surgery, he's pretty spry.
Without warning, Jerry stabs Claudia on the pier and, hearing someone coming, throws her in the water. Who else but Alexis, the District Attorney, appears. For a consummate liar, Jerry doesn't cover very well, and Alexis is suspicious. She leaves anyway.
Anthony informs Johnny that he thinks Claudia put a hit out on Sonny. Johnny disagrees. Trevor enters, and Anthony not only interrogates him but Johnny about the hit. Anthony then threatens Lulu by telling Johnny that "someday, you might want to be loyal to somebody more than you do Claudia."
Johnny and Lulu meet and start to make out, unaware that Trevor is watching them from the window.
Michael arrives at the aftercare facility. Sonny, Carly and Jason are present. Jason found saying his goodbyes to Michael devastating and talked to the boy about caring for him as a baby. When it was Sonny's turn, he took the blame for everything, telling his son what a good boy he was and that his last words to his father were "I love you." Carly says goodbye last, promising to return in several days. She cannot accept his condition is permanent. In the limo, she and Sonny reminisced about Michael. When Carly breaks down, she and Sonny find themselves in each other's arms, kissing.
Elizabeth corrals Lucky into babysitting for Jake while she takes Cameron to a sleepover some miles away. As Elizabeth is returning home in the storm, she has a flat tire. When she gets out to look on it, she realizes that her cell phone - and her keys - are locked in the car. Fortunately, Jason rides up on his motorcycle, having decided to go for a ride. He gives opening the car door a shot, but instead, he breaks down over Michael.
