Jason gets his way regarding Luke; Skye disentangles from Luke; the plane has crashed but there are survivors; Lucky warns Luke of Sonny's plans.
Carly calls to Jason as he's about to go in to see Sonny. "I'm scared," she says. "Sonny is so shut off. He has a mask on that's completely blank, no emotions. I'm afraid he's going to hurt somebody or himself." "Is the reception over?" Sonny asks when Jason walks in. "I couldn't deal with it. I guess that was rude." "Max said you wanted to see me about Luke," Jason says. "Yes, we have to figure out how we're going to deal with him," Sonny answers. "You know Luke should die for what he did," Jason remarks. Also, he continues, the Sandoval crime family has been encroaching on Sonny's business while Sonny has been distracted. "Luke and I were once business partners," Sonny argues. "We were friends. I went camping with his son. He gave you your first job. This isn't about business for you; it's about revenge." Jason counters: "Everyone in our business knows Luke busted Faith out - if you want him to live, let him live, but that makes you look weak. And that could get you killed." "Are you saying it's Luke's life or mind?" Sonny asks. "Could be," Jason admits. "Luke knew the risk he was taking." Sonny wonders, "Why isn't it our fault for letting her live?" Jason reminds him, "We let her live as a favor to Luke. He said he could control her, and he didn't." Sonny shakes his head. "I had a friendship with Luke for years. He killed Frank Smith, which gave me the opportunity to take over." The list goes on. "Are you telling me I can't overlook this one mistake?" Jason doesn't think so. "He needs to pay. You know killing Luke will make Morgan and Kristina safer." "Do it," Sonny orders.
Luke enters the Quartermaines via the terrace door when he sees Skye. "I gather you went to Michael's memorial," Luke says. "Yes, and it's given me time to think," she replies. "Joining you on your adventures has been like taking a drink when I know better. You're like alcohol to me, and you're a destructive pattern that I need to break. So this is goodbye."
Courtney finds Carly outside near Sonny's house. "I needed some fresh air," Carly says, tears streaming down her face. "I have to go back over there now and thank people for coming. How do you make polite conversation with people when your child is dead?" They cry and reminisce together. "He told me once you were the best mom in the world," Courtney says, embracing her friend. Carly returns to the house, asking Jason what went on with Sonny. "It's business," he says. "Sonny is grieving right now," Carly says. "You know he can't make decisions. You have to be the voice or reason." Jason leaves without a word. Carly goes into the next room to see Sonny. "What did you just send Jason to do?" she asks. "It's business. Respect it," he advises her. "I'm not asking you for details," she says. "I'm not sure you're thinking clearly." "Jason is sending out a message that whoever comes after my family is going to pay," he says. "I promised you I'd keep our family safe. I told Michael that nothing would ever happen to him. My son died." "You might just escalate the violence," she remarks.
"You walked out in the middle of our discussion," Skye says, entering the Star. "You said you wanted out. So go," Luke says, taking a drink. "We knew we were mismatched from the start. Neither one of us were looking for a relationship. We had some laughs because we needed them. The laughs ended. So did we." "It was more than that, Luke," Skye argues, "and you know it." "We don't need to rehash it," Luke stops her. "If you want to go, go." "We made a connection, something real and strong," she insists, crying. "You said I was a bad habit you wanted to break. Are you changing your mind?" he asks. "You're saying when things get messy, you bale. You see dots I don't connect. Like we busted Faith out of prison and the Corinthos kid got killed." "I can't handle that you won't take responsibility for your part in a little boy's death!" she exclaims. "I don't see myself as responsible for any of it, and that won't change," Luke informs her. "Maybe it's better if we don't see each other anymore." "I thought you were a kindred soul," she says. "Somebody who battled the same demons that I did. Being known and accepted, probably for the first time in my life, has been precious to me. It just costs too much. But I want to thank you for saying you loved me, for rescuing me and saving me and showing me one helluva good time. I love you, too. I'm sorry we couldn't make it work out." She leaves.
