My Review
I love the mob scene, but it needs to be refocused and not be the centralized theme of the show. It has been going on and on for almost two decades now and it really has burned itself out. A nice twist would be for Sonny to back away from the mob especially now that he will have a second chance with Brenda.
Carly (love her and Laura) but they both need a break. Maybe a back burner story for a spell until we can find another direction for Carly other than revenge. Maybe a new business venture. Maybe someone from her past. Bring back her brother Lucas. They never really interacted together so it would be great to see. It would also establish more ties to the core characters. Bobbie (i know she is recurring) but we could give her a few more scenes. A great storyline would be Lucas and Maxie(cousins) fighting over the same man.
I love Ethan so lets get him some more things to do other than follow around Johnny. He likes Maya, so maybe he starts questioning his wayward ways and tries to make it good. So many possibilities with his character lets see where he can takes us.
Remake Kellys into a coffee shop/cyber lounge. Mike can still hang out there, but lets give some of our younger characters jobs.
Recenter the hospital even more and really tackle some interesting subjects that happen to guest stars for shorter story arcs. I think they were going this way with Robin and Patrick but it fizzled out. Overall the show lost its heart by killing off so many long time characters. It hasn't found a concrete ground since then and focusing on all the violence involved in the mob in a real world full of violence makes people tune out.
