Mob Princess
For weeks, dialogue and scenes on General Hospital focused on Sonny relinquishing rights to his children. In fact, it is next to impossible legally to relinquish rights to your children; judges are funny about that. You can relinquish your rights to visitation, but those documents have to be signed in front of a judge, not presented in a car after sex.
Legal issues aside, given Sonny's actions done for the safety of his children, Carly's recent activities are seen in a new light. Why is Carly meeting with Karpov, flirting with Karpov and going to Karpov's warehouse with him? And if Sonny is dangerous to her children, why isn't Jason? How can she justify stealing Karpov's PDA and giving it to Jason, thus putting herself in the middle of such a volatile situation?
It's not just a matter of putting Michael and Morgan in danger. It's a matter of making them orphans if Karpov decides to blow both Carly and Sonny away. Sonny made an effort to quit the mob, but he has found it difficult to give up the power associated with it. Other than lying his face off to Kate, he really has no reason not to deal with Karpov -- in his mind, anyway. It's a limited involvement, or so he keeps telling himself. And if his children can't be part of his life anyway, what's the difference?
Instead of asking viewers to invest in a storyline that doesn't make sense, if General Hospital intended that Carly a) continue having a friendship with Jason with no explanation as to why that's okay; and b) have Carly become Jason's underworld spy, perhaps it would have been better if Carly had asked both men not to visit Michael and had sent Morgan away to live with Bobbie somewhere. She's on the show so rarely now, I'm sure she could have moved over to Tyler's Landing the way that Courtney did when she wanted to protect those same children. It can't be that far that Bobbie couldn't have popped into work.
Sonny could still have had a fit, there still could have been weeks of argument, and we would have been spared wondering about the new Corinthos in the business: Carly.

it isnt as hard as you think to relinquish rights to the children. the documents do not have to be signed in front of a judge. your lawyer can draw up the documents and give them to you and you just return them to him/her. you dont even have to see the judge. so it can happen in the car after sex. lol
thanks marie for the reply directly to my email, i didnt know it worked that way nor do i mind. i like that you replied to all my comments on different parts of your site thats funny. I’m glad you like Carly too. I wasnt trying to be a know it all about the parental rights thing Ive been through it but who knows things work differently from one person to the next so anythings possible I guess.
The problem with your confusion is that, while indeed Jason helped Carly to protect Morgan and Michael, Carly really was punishing Sonny and doesn’t give a hoot about her children.
It’s the easiet thing there is … my dad relinquished rights by signing his name in front of my mom’s boyfried!! That was that!
I am behind (I tape), but I am having a terrible time trying to figure out why she had to say it was Jason’s anyway. Why not say it Jax’s??????
My pet peeve concerns Alexis whom no one seems to realize is the biggest hypocrite in P.C. She was there voluntarily to represent Sonny/Carly/Jason in their custody dispute w/ A.J. A.J., by the way, was mistreated, scorned & ridiculed by the Q’s and all of P.C. When Carly faked her death, Alexis rushed to file a junction against A.J. in defense of Sonny–even without Sonny’s knowledge. A.J. was wrongly denied visitation or any contact w/ Michael whatsoever while Robin was ostracised because she dared to tell A.J. the truth! That he was Michaels biological father. But, oh boy, now that Alexis has a daughter by Sonny she will lie, cheat, steal or kill to keep Sonny away from her precious daughter. Hypocrisy at it’s worst!!!!!
