General Hospital is doing something for its teen base this summer - they are focusing on Kristina's (Lexi Ainsworth) abusive relationship with Keifer (Christian Alexander).

As advisors, the show has turned to Loveisrespect, a national teen dating hotline, also known as NTDAH. This anonymous hotline helps teenagers learn about the signs of an abusive relationship. The organization also counsels parents on how they can identify the warning signs as well.

This is just what we need another slanted life lesson from these writers on why the male/female relationship can’t work.
We’re suppose to believe that this young girl would fall for this nonsense?
She is:
1) Street smart
2) Yale bound
3) Has a feminist D.A. for a mom
4) A gangsta kingpin dad who would break this little punks legs in a heartbeat
What about the punk? He would treat all of Sonny’s children with respect–case closed….

Exactly! Abuse comes to all levels of class. NOT just the low class. I believe this storyline is brilliant, and teens will take away from it at a young age, abuse, whether physical or emotional, is unacceptable. No matter who you are.
I look forward to this storyline!

So now the writers set it up so that Sonny order’s Jason to kill a teenager. We all know Sonny will not want to get his hands dirty. Will Jason do it??????

This story is a great idea. It will show teens and parents that this can happen to anyone and in any relationship. It does not matter that Kristina is a teen, who her parents are, or that she’s a good student. Remember Emily’s drug addiction? She may have been a new Quartermaine but she didn’t exactly come from an environment of drug use. Further, this story shouldn’t just be about Kristina but also about the abuser and why he is the way he is. Why does he turn to abuse himself? I truly hope Sonny doesn’t try to kill a teen. That would take the mob to a whole new low. I’m glad GH is taking on this story and giving it to Lexi Ainsworth. Although she’s only been on the show for a short time, she deserves it.

Wow, I’m on the outside of this one. This storyline doesn’t interest me a bit. I don’t need GH preaching to me. It seems a little late in the summer to start a teen storyline, won’t these viewers be gone in 6 weeks, perhaps along with a few more of our regular viewers, if the writers botch this one too. For those who do invite this storyline, I hope the writers do it justice.

No its never too late to acknowledge an epidemic such as abusive relationships.

When I saw that punk Kiefer hit Kristina today, it got to me. I would so rather see a storyline like that, than have to watch Nik & Sequel in a retarded storyline going nowhere.
JMO of course!!

Great a good storyline. Lets hope it does not turn mob related like everything else on this show!

I agree with Linda.
Couldn’t we have a nice summer teenage romance instead of this?
Would it be to hard to have two or three relationships that worked?
Claudia’s baby is going to die.
Why did Olivia’s son have to be in the Mafia?
Sam knows the new guy that’s coming to town.
I bet he’s not her priest. How many more men did she swindle 14, 20?
I agree with Deb about Nik & Becky/Emily.
They have very good chemistry but with Mr. Aussie Sneer in the background and the poor writing, it’s like watching the ppd story again.
Instead of telling us what teen hotline to call or where we can get more information on ppd maybe they can give us a number to call
to feel good about something or where we can get a smile.

I don’t think Olivia’s son is in the mafia. I think he is a FED. JMO

As usualy, Deb and I agree.

I think it’s perfectly clear that Dominic/Dante is a deep undercover FBI agent. If he weren’t Spin wouldn’t have found a long criminal history for Dominic, which we know, from Olivia, is not Dante’s reality.

We also know that Ethan is getting a degree of hostility from Lucky that is completely unwarranted, and that Lucky got some FBI training a few months back. I think Lucky is in on this, too. His attempts to get Ethan out of town may be an excuse to get everything mob away from Lulu and Elizabeth’s kids. He doesn’t know if Ethan is in the mob or not, but since Ethan seems to be a chip off the old block, it is reasonable for Lucky to think it likely.

I’m hoping that at least a large part of the Port Charles mob is about to come down for the count.

Barb-are you saying that there may be a storyline down the road for Lucky?? :o )

How nice that would be!

This story should have been given to maxie and jax! To show their destructive passion!

I want some love and laughs. I know go read a book. I like the Dante character I would like that he is FBI. That would really put Sonny’s knickers in a twist. Please PTB remember that your core audience that isn’t a teen I’m 62) have been here all along, pleae stop forgetting us with your stories. Great speech from Johnny telling Sonny off. Loved the slap from Olivia. Don’t get me wrong I love Maurice but he needs to be taken down a peg once in awhile. I read Claudia loses her baby, surprised the PROLIFE people aren’t picking GH studios. Anry fan here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That slap came out of nowhere. I actually thought Kristina was about to be raped and had a flashback of Liz, former bad girl who changed as a result. I like the teen abuse storyline. It’s an issue that needs to be adressed. I just hope GH does it right. Shows the cycles of abuse and ends with Kristina getting the support and help she will need.
Please Guza don’t screw up a great way to get a message out there!

how can this storyline regarding abuse be put out there as a positive message to encourage anyone to report abuse when the storyline shows the “victim” accusing the wrong person of the crime. you are advertising this as if you are representing the victim of abuse–yet you are also allowing your “victim” to accuse someone other than than the actual abuser.if you truly want to help — you should not let the “victim” identify the wrong person as the ABUSER!or stop advertiising as representatives against abuse! At this point you are teaching what some people call “victims” how to manipulate the system. Seriously– IF you want to do something constructive, make sure your storyline teaches people how to go after the abusers — NOT how to teach people to work the system.
