Elizabeth and Lucky

First Love

By , About.com Guide

Elizabeth and Lucky (Rebecca Herbst, Greg Vaughn)

Adam Larkey/American Broadcasting Companies, Inc.
Elizabeth Webber fell in love with Lucky Spencer when she was 15. Unfortunately, at the time, he was taken with her sister Sarah. After Elizabeth was brutally raped, Lucky became very important in her life as he was there for her with his support. One Valentine's Day, with plans to move to New York together, Elizabeth and Lucky went into a church and exchanged vows.

Shortly afterward, Lucky appeared to be killed in a fire. The fire had been staged, and Lucky had been kidnapped by Helena Cassadine and brainwashed. When he returned, he wasn't the same person (literally - he became Jakob Young). He constantly pushed Elizabeth away. It was only after he was free of his programming that he could connect with Elizabeth. They decided to marry, but Elizabeth realized that Lucky's feelings for her had really never returned.

It would be a long time before they reconnected, and things went from not great to horrible. First, Lucky resented that Elizabeth agreed to carry a child for Jax and Courtney. They overcame that and in 2005, they were at last married. But after a spinal injury, Lucky became addicted to pain killers. His paranoia and feelings of jealousy grew, and he became involved with Maxie Jones - his drug supplier.

Though she would give Lucky more chances, ultimately, Elizabeth and Lucky divorced. But never say never. Since Elizabeth was poisoned in the current hospital crisis, Lucky hasn't left her side. Looks like he and Sam McCall are over, and Liz and Lucky are being revisited. For the umpteenth time.
